How long have you been in business?
Catalpha was established November 1986.
What is your primary product or service?
Branding, package design and websites/online marketing to catapult our client's business to the next level. We begin with in depth interview and meeting to establish objectives and budget. Then we come back with strategic recommendations based on your unique situation and options for implementing the strategy. A marketing plan has to flow with the daily challenges so communication is key ingredient in achieving brand results whether it is a package design, website design or online marketing to get your brand positioned to succeed.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
From a young age I wanted to have a creative career. And I pursued that when I went to college. Like most, experience is the greatest teacher so I find I learned the most on the job. After 9 years I went out on my own because I saw a need to change the way clients worked with creative. I peeled away the layers so my clients talk to a Creative Director not an order taker. And technology came and changed everything. We were one of the first studios in Baltimore to adapt to working on computers to design. Over the years technology has changed how we work and how to advertise. We focused on what our clients need: branding, package design, POP, direct response and online marketing tools and campaigns.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Every marketing dollar should work to achieve sales and marketing goals. We are small and do not have the layers of the typical ad agency. This streamlines communication between client and the creative personnel. It also allows us to respond faster than our competitors. Additionally, we use a custom process to work with clients that has built in discovery and proofing times - the client is a partner in the creation of the package, website and marketing.
Which areas do you service?
We have extensive experience in healthcare marketing, home improvement and jewelry categories. We have created branded marketing tools and campaigns for hospitals. And we have created and rebranded healthcare products, creating new identity, packaging, POP and promotions. These are just a sampling of the expertise and knowledge we bring to each of our clients.

There a 2 owners that have daily involvement with clients and the business.
What are your hours of operation?
9 - 5 EST but most days we are in earlier and stay later to support our clients.
