The Lutheran Mission Society, established in 1905, is a Christian Health & Welfare Agency with ten Compassion Centers – nine in Maryland and one in York, PA. The Lutheran Mission Society’s Compassion Centers serve over 500 walk-in clients per day – providing food, clothing, some health services, chaplaincy and Christian counseling.
LMS Counseling (Compassionate Grace Counseling Center) is a faith-based program staffed by professional therapists whose purpose is to provide low-cost counseling to the community. LMS Counseling accepts BlueCross/Carefirst, and Aetna insurance, and also has a low-cost sliding scale for clients without insurance.
